On 11/26/25, Portfolio Manager Charlie Dreifus, along with Assistant Portfolio Managers Steven McBoyle and Tim Hipskind, who manage Royce Small-Cap Special Equity Fund, were among the “select group of experts” asked to weigh in on the idea being floated in Washington, which would end the SEC’s requirement for public companies to report their earnings every quarter in Barron’s, Earnings Reports Every Quarter? The Pros and Cons From Wall Street Insiders – Barron’s.

Charlie, Steven, and Tim come down as against the idea, reasoning that, “The liquidity and robustness of U.S. capital markets are due, in no small part, to the frequency and regulatory requirements of the information released by U.S. companies. We worry that less frequent disclosure of important financial information will reduce the attractiveness of those markets.”

This material is not authorized for distribution unless preceded or accompanied by a current prospectus. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing or sending money. The Fund invests primarily in small-cap stocks which may involve considerably more risk than investing in larger-cap stocks. (Please see "Primary Risks for Fund Investors" in the prospectus.) As of 12/31/24, the Fund invested a significant portion of its assets in a limited number of stocks, which may involve considerably more risk than more broadly diversified portfolio because a decline in the value of any one of these stocks would cause the Fund’s overall value to decline to a greater degree.
