In the article, Jay detailed three companies he believes will continue on an upward path even in a downtrodden economy. He explained that he thinks Rent-A-Center and Aaron's, both rent-to-own businesses, are well-positioned amid a tight credit environment. He added that he thinks Shoe Carnival can weather lower back-to-school demand because he believes the company will benefit from competitors like Payless going out of business.
